April McAllister

April cultivates effective and positive relationships with clients by ensuring their challenges are well-defined and understood by the Silvermark team. She ensures solutions are co-created with lasting and deep impact for the older adults our clients serve. Her career experience includes having worked at Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre at the University of New Brunswick alongside the Elder-in-Residence. Here she developed an appreciation for the cultural teachings that were shared by Indigenous Elders.
She grew up watching her maternal grandmother care for older adults in her special care home where she would deliver homemade cards and letters to residents putting a smile on their faces. These interactions were impactful, expanding April’s sense of empathy and her commitment to being part of a person-centered team. As a leader and mom of three girls, April embraces challenges as learning opportunities while maintaining a sense of humour and a positive attitude.
